Let’s Get Ready For Elections!
They wouldn’t want to limit our ability to vote if our votes didn’t matter. With so much information on the internet, many of us feel overloaded and confused, which only adds to the confusion. Don’t we all want to have quick access to information so that we may choose people who will represent us in a sensible and logical manner?
As an adult, I have encountered this scenario numerous times while attempting to use various resources to stay current. Just remembering when the elections were was one of my biggest challenges. Every year is an election year, and the general election’s core issues are decided at the primary elections. However, the four-year presidential election is the main topic of media attention.
The year of 2023 is the year of local elections, the ones that directly affect our lives. Ballotpedia created a resource to find your local election day in your state here. But don’t just limit it to 2023 year, continue to reference it each year for an ease of voting. Even though it might not be an exhaustive list, it serves as a universal source that catches a wealth of information. On the other hand, the national conference of state legislatures releases an annual calendar listing the dates for each state’s primary elections. Please use this page to set a reminder for yourself to vote in your state on this day in 2024. The presidential elections will be a major focus of the year, which will be busy and high-profile.
Listen to the second episode of my podcast, which discusses the many types of elections, if you’re curious about how this day differs from the general election and why casting a ballot on this day even matters.
Voting is a crucial first step in ensuring that your voice is heard, but we must first decide who to support and where to cast our ballots. You can use this to locate your voting place.
Just Facts is a fantastic resource for learning more about candidates who are running for office or other positions in an election. Although there may not be much information on local officials, there is useful information regarding candidates and lawmakers at the state and federal levels. I strongly advise using this database to look into the voting records of current officials and the referendums they have supported. I don’t care who you vote for, but I do urge you to make good choices by using the tools that have been carefully chosen to assist you. The media will divert us and present candidate propaganda that pulls us away from the facts rather than closer to them.
Listen to episode three of the PJs Buzz podcast with our special guest if you’re interested in learning more about how voting directly impacts our lives. In this episode, we focus more on daily living and how voting can alter those aspects.
